Mafalala Community Walking Tour
Tour Overview
This is a 2 to 3-hour guided walk through the narrow, historic alleys of the Mafalala neighborhood. Led by local community guides (often from the IVERCA association), the tour explores how this "suburb" became a melting pot of diverse ethnicities—Comorian, Indian, and indigenous Mozambican—and a cradle for the country’s intellectual and political elite. The pace is slow to allow for interaction with residents and a deeper understanding of the local social fabric.
Tour Highlights

Literary Legacy: Walk the streets that inspired the revolutionary poetry of Noémia de Sousa and José Craveirinha.
